76. Piles
There are two types of constipations: one is called acute, and the other, chronic.
When a person defecates once in two, three, or more number of days, his faeces becomes hardened, cracked, and even forms pellet-like. If and when he forces to defecate, the muscles at the anus/rectum gets pushed out. Such a protruding part is called piles.
If a person defecates small quantities of slimy stools twice or several times daily, that is called chronic constipation. Piles form even in this type. The cure for this depends upon smooth toileting on a daily basis.
Avoidance of biscuits, bakery and other food items made of finely ground and refined wheat flour, ground nuts, ripe papaya fruit, etc. will help in the prevention and/or cure of the piles. Foods rich in high fibre would help overcome this problem substantially.
In the process of curing, the sufferer’s intestinal system will have to be cleansed with the use of some strong and herbal laxative.
