To Live Longer, Have a Beer!

In short, the news says:
Lifetime alcohol abstainers were 19 percent more likely to die than regular drinkers—say Virginia Tech University researchers.
Those who never touched the bottle were also roughly 56 percent (!) more likely to experience coronary heart disease than regular drinkers.
It seems, they gathered the data from a government survey of nearly half a million Americans.
CAN THIS BE TRUE?
LET US THINK DEEPLY AND TRACE THE POSSIBLE TRUTH IN THIS CLAIM:
Please trace back to ALL my articles that deal with long life, heart problems, diabetes, perfect health, and the like.
The following truth remains:
We need about 2 L (8 glasses) of pure water (and NOT juices or beverages) to remove the poisons our body produces (or gathers) every day, through about 8 urinations.
If we do NOT drink adequate water, inadequate urination will leave behind (within our body) some of the poisons.
Over a period of time, such poisons will accumulate to levels that are beyond the tolerance limit (threshold point) of our body.
That will result in shortening our lifespan, through the development of several minor health problems, heart problems, diabetes, cancers, and the like.
On understanding the above phenomenon, let us see how the beer-drinking experimental result must have come:
Group-1: We pick one million people who drink only HALF LITRE (2 glasses) of WATER daily.
Group-2: We pick another million people who drink 2 L of BEER daily.
In this experiment, the result would definitely show that those who have been drinking 2 L of BEER daily lived longer, compared to those who did NOT drink any BEER.
The ERROR in designing the experiment, OR the BIASED experimental design did NOT include a THIRD group of million people who were drinking TWO Litres of only WATER daily.
If they included the third group of 2L water drinkers, the result would have come out in the following manner:
(The following results are only hypothetical, indicated for the purpose of argument only):
Those who drank 2 L of plain water lived HEALTHILY for a LONG period.
Those who drank only half a litre daily had a shorter life-span, and had diabetes, heart attacks, cancers, etc.
Those who drank 8 glasses BEER daily, lived relatively longer than those who took only 2 glasses of water, BUT, shorter than those who drank 2 L of plain water.
Besides the above, certain percentage of the beer drinkers developed CIRRHOSIS of the LIVER, and died much SOONER than the plain 2L WATER drinkers.
NOW, friends, evaluate the truth in the above news which claimed that drinking beer is good for you.
I don't know why and how this group of researchers ended up with this 'misadventurous' research programme (or, with a biased research design).
The important point is, please do NOT fall a prey to such misguided suggestions.
That is why I always insist the following:
“Whatever you hear, from whomsoever it may be,
Evaluate the truth in it, before accepting it”
