REDUCED SUGAR CONSUMPTION WILL CERTAINLY INCREASE
THE NUMBER OF TYPE-2 DIABETIC CASES

I am more interested than
anyone else to see people live a disease-free life, especially without
diabetes, cancers and heart diseases.
This being the case,
why should I (a service-oriented, people-loving, humble and low-stratum
scientist,) cry aloud telling people not to reduce sugar consumption, as
opposed to the entire world?
It is so because, I
am absolutely certain of the facts I have been talking about.
My claim is based on
38 years of research, clinical observations, and small-scale trials.
(Meta-analysis is not possible, especially because the entire world is going in a mislead path, and it appears I am a 'lone ranger' in this respect.)

I am firm and clear
while saying that DECREASED sugar consumption WILL INCREASE Type-2 Diabetism in
people.
By right, following the
scientific tradition of reporting new findings, the write-up 'demands' a different style of expression.
I should have worded
the very title in the following manner:
“Reduced sugar
consumption MAY increase the number of type-2 diabetic cases”.
OR, to be more polite
and humble, I should put it in the following manner:
“There appears
to exist some amount of evidence to suspect that decreased sugar consumption could
be one of the major risk factors that may initiate type-2 diabetes in people,
worldwide.”
In spite of knowing
how to write, if I am putting it up bluntly in a somewhat harsh manner, that must have
some reason:
1. I am pretty sure of my findings that the sugar
consumption is NOT INITIATING the type-2 diabetes.
(Far too much of sugar - to an 'unimaginable' amount, will of course give rise to Type-1 Diabetes - the Insulin-dependent type - the injecting type).

2. It is ACCUMULATION OF EXCESSIVE CALCIUM that INITIATES
the Type-2 Diabetes in people.
3. Whereas, it is only that AFTER someone becoming
diabetic, the SUGAR INTAKE remains floating in the blood (and also gets
eliminated through urine. This would mean that excessive urination forced by the brain is body-friendly, body-protective, rather than destructive. In other words, if a person in whom excessive calcium has already accumulated does not develop type-2 diabetes, he would develop heart attack, and may die of that, or at least, get a stroke.).
This
happens because, the REDUCED SUGAR CONSUMPTION HAS ALREADY REDUCED
(proportionately) THE NATURAL INSULIN PRODUCTION BY THE BETA CELLS IN THE PANCREAS of that
person.
So,
for want of adequate natural insulin, any freshly consumed sugar will NOT get
digested, hence it keeps floating in the blood.
Naturally,
the undigested sugar (that would turn excessive by now) will damage the eyes, rot the soft tissues (thus leading
towards amputation), bring about erectile dysfunction, and the like.

How does it happen?
How does calcium
influence the onset of type-2 diabetes?
Let me explain the
correct path that gives rise to this menace, that has been turning epidemic
world-wide:

Sugar cane synthesizes
sugar.
To enhance sugar
production, the farmer does NOT add sugar as fertilizer to the sugarcane plant.
The same goes with
any other plant product (e.g., a mango fruit) that tastes sweet to the tongue.
The much-talked about
Stevia rebaudiana. (the sugary herb) too gets its sweetness from
some other source, and certainly not from sugar produced by sugarcane.
If so, what could be
that substance that is used by all plants, including sugarcane, to synthesize
sugar?
Well, it is just
CALCIUM !
In the practice of agriculture
/ agronomy, they apply what is called “Agriculture Lime”.
The process is called
“Liming the Soil”.
When calcium gets
depleted (either because of excessive rainfall and related leaching losses, or
because of the addition of acid-forming fertilizers), the soil becomes
INFERTILE: i.e., acidic.
Sugar cane plants,
even Stevia sp., or a mango tree, growing on such acid soil, would produce fruits that are bland, and NOT
sugary, and they tend to be SOUR because of the acidity.
You can do a simple
experiment to understand this phenomenon at home:
Buy two sour unripe mangos
from the market place.
Scratch the stalk of
one mango, and apply lime (calcium = kapur in Malay language, and chunnmbu, in Tamil). Wrap it up in a
newspaper and leave it for four or five days.Do likewise with the other mango, except that you should not apply the lime to the stalk.
After ripening, you would find the lime-applied mango alone sweeter, and not the untreated one.
There is another
practice worthy of mention here:
Do you know how some
commerce-oriented people ripen fruits, such as mangos, banana, and the like?
They store these
unripe, prematurely harvested fruits in an air-tight room. Then they use CALCIUM
Carbide. That ripens them. Yet, since
the calcium has not penetrated into the meat of the fruit, it does not taste
sweet!
In other words, the
ripening AND sweetening of the fruits are carried out only by CALCIUM.
If the mango is still
attached to the tree, then, the ‘mother tree’ would ‘pump in’ calcium to the
fully mature mango, and THAT ripens and sweetens the mango.
(The ‘pumping-in’
action is called ‘Mineral Ion Transport”. If you want to learn more about it, please buy a book by the book by Epstein, E. 1972. Mineral Nutrition of Plants: Principles and Perspectives. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 412 pp. This is such a wonderful book, and the English language used is very much enjoyable!)
********Calcium that has accumulated within the body of a person to excessive quantities, that reaches a level that is beyond the tolerance limit of the human body, then, the pancreas, being unable to utilize the whole lot of it, and by way of what we understand as an “Auto-Immune Disease”, the brain auto-regulates the functioning of the beta cells in the pancreas to produce LESS insulin, so that, only proportionately LESSER calcium will be utilized, thus saving the body from undesirable illnesses that are associated with diabetes (and morbid obesity).
As said earlier, if
the person consumes sugar, the insulin production too becomes minimized.
Now, do you know what
can happen to the left-over, unutilized calcium?
Such left-over excesses
tend to get transported by the LYMPH fluid (and probably much less by the
blood, due to the controlling potentials of calcitonin) to other parts of the
body, get absorbed by the cells of the soft tissues (to become part of the
cytoplasm), thus giving rise to enlargements (hypertrophy, as it occurs in the prostate gland),
or lumps (as in breasts), brain tumours*, and the like.
(* I have, at various occasions, explained that the excessive calcium gets carried by the lymph fluid to the brain, if the person happens to sleep without a pillow, or resting his head at a lower level than his body - this way, the earth's gravitational pull drains the calcium excesses to the brain.)

The above explanation
should clarify the sequence that leads to the development of type-2 diabetes.
So, it is important
to PREVENT THE ACCUMULATION OF CALCIUM EXCESSES WITHIN THE BODY OF A PERSON*,
RATHER THAN RESTRICTING HIS SUGAR CONSUMPTION.
(* I have defined very well, and have described in elaborate terms, as how the calcium accumulates to excessive quantitates within the body, in all my books, and also in most of my articles.
Under-urination + defecating SLIMY FAECES are the TWO main causes for such excessive calcium accumulations.

A mere reduction in
the sugar consumption would only, proportionately and correspondingly REDUCE
the insulin production, and that itself would diminish further the insulin
production, resulting in the worsening of the disease.

Of late, the entire
lot of health consultants all over the world have been trying to ‘educate’
people not to consume sugar.
Day by day, the campaign
is getting aggressive.
All mass media,
whether that be the TVs, Radios, or Newspapers, all of them, along with the Health
Authorities and Consumer Associations, have been advocating people to cut down
on sugar, and to stop taking it if possible.
Since the campaign has
been getting intense this year, I firmly believe that the number of diabetic
people is going to INCREASE MANIFOLD NEXT YEAR !
The truth is, all
politicians and health ministries world-wide, especially in Malaysia – as I am
aware of it, are very sincerely desirous of saving people from many of the
serious illnesses: They want to see their citizens healthy. I don’t doubt it
all!
Malaysia has been spending enormous amount of money, effort and time in trying to protect the people from diabetes and also from other major diseases. They are constantly looking for solutions - I don't doubt that at all!

However, please see the following
analogy:
I am holding an
expensive glass, filled with purified drinking water.
If I throw it away
with anger, it will break, and that will become useless.
On the other hand, I
love it – I like the glass. Yet, unwittingly, it slips off from my hand, similar to an accident. In this
case also, the glass will break, and will become useless.
This is precisely
what has been happening now.
All those concerned
with people’s health, worldwide, for certain want to help people live well.
Unwittingly, they are
making the grave mistake of guiding people to REDUCE sugar, and they are also
telling them to take MORE calcium.
Sad to say: both are wrong!
Very soon, in the
years to come – may be within next five years, when nearly 80% of the people
are going to get diabetes, they will realize that what ‘was’ said by
Dr.V.M.Palaniappan, since 1998, through all his publications, including the postings in
this Blog, ‘were’ ‘totally’ true, or at least, true to a major extent!
Well friends, if you
can influence the senior authorities in the health-care industries, of if you
happen to be the MINISTER of HEALTH, please put all my reports to experimentation
for re-confirmation, and implement them
for the betterment of mankind (and of course, give me due recognition, while I
am still alive – Eh!)
